This 40′ boxcar replicates an impact demo or damage control car. These cars were used in locomotive crew training to demonstrate the proper handling of cargo. The cars featuredsee-through sides to allow trainees to view the effect on the load being carried when coupled to another railcar at speeds greater than 4 mph (this would typically involve the load falling over or being damaged).
